New shapes & Research

To produce an outcome of new unexpected shapes and silhouettes I wanted to emphasize the use of draping but use thicker heavy fabrics for a more dramatic definition. I have referenced a few designers to see how this is achieved successfully:

Respect for Animals/ Anti fur;
I have adapted my concept and to fit the brief I will develop my design work into a collection of outwear garments using alternatives to fur but still demonstrating an animal friendly way of using natural fabrics such as wool and cotton.
Examples of my garments that already fit in this brief include:

In extnded development to my existing work I will form a new print design to put forward as a further additional fur alternative. 

Concept

Hans Bellmer Dolls-

Inspiration from the way that the sculptures are broken into separate pieces and re-constructed. The overall look is soft shell shaped silhouettes with angular lines within the construction.

The Kaffe Fassett exhibition pushed me to use needlepoint and tapestry as a fabric option and develop this into a textile element.
